Job Description

We are currently seeking a reliable Stockyard Hand to join our team at SPM Awarua site, based just outside of Invercargill.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in a manufacturing environment and has worked with stock previously. This role requires working with live animals and in a team environment and therefore experience in animal welfare/ working with animals is preferred; however full training is available to those who can demonstrate they have the right attributes to be successful in this role.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Receiving of stock and relevant processes
  • Supporting the management of animal welfare within the department
  • Reconciling the stock numbers and daily process figures
  • Communicating with other departments and key personnel to ensure efficient receipt and processing of stock
  • Making sure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are strictly adhered to
  • Continuously improving standards and efficiency
  • Recording and processing documentation/departmental administration in an accurate and timely manner
