Job Description

Looking for a role where your practical experience is valued over a piece of paper?

Join our skilled and motivated Trades team. We operate a fast-paced maintenance environment where plant reliability and productivity are everything. We aren't just looking for someone to follow a manual - we need an all-rounder who can think on their feet, diagnose problems quickly, and keep the plant running smoothly.

You will be given ownership and responsibility over your own area of the plant. You’ll see the direct impact of your skills and workmanship every day, taking pride in keeping a modern, heavy-industrial facility operating at its peak.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Preventative Maintenance & Fault Finding: Diagnosing mechanical faults, performing operational maintenance, and minimizing production downtime.
  • Plant Ownership: Taking charge of your area to ensure plant reliability, executing repairs, and assisting with the setup or commissioning of new machinery.
  • Practical Fabrication: Fitting, assembling, and fabricating metal parts and equipment to keep the line moving (welding, cutting, grinding, drilling).
  • Safety First: Working to the highest health and safety standards, looking out for your team, and actively improving site safety.
  • Versatile Problem Solving: Looking at drawings or assessing a broken machine to figure out the best, most efficient way to get it back online.

Qualifications & Experience

We know that the best problem-solvers often learned their trade on the tools, not in a classroom. If you have a broad skillset across mechanical and maintenance work, we want to hear from you.

What we are looking for:

  • Solid Practical Experience: Either a relevant engineering/maintenance trade certificate OR a proven track record of 3+ years working in heavy industrial, mechanical, or agricultural maintenance.
  • All-Rounder Skillset: Practical competence in welding (TIG, MIG, or Stick/MMAW) and general metal fabrication.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: A good working understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics (experience troubleshooting these is a major plus).
  • The Right Attitude: A proactive, self-motivated approach to daily routines, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to keeping yourself and your team safe.
  • Bonus points: Previous experience working within a food processing, meat processing, or fast-paced industrial environment.
