Job Description 

AFFCO Rangiuru is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Compliance Manager to lead site food safety, compliance, and verification activities. This role is responsible for ensuring the plant remains fully operational while consistently meeting food safety, regulatory, customer, and company requirements.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will coordinate and lead the site Compliance Team and hold accountability for all food safety and compliance systems, including RMP, HACCP, PBV, OMARs, AUSMEAT, and customer standards. You will work closely with production, site leadership, regulators, and customers to ensure food safety risks are identified early and effectively controlled.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead site food safety and compliance to ensure all regulatory, customer, and company standards are met
  • Own and maintain food safety systems including RMPs, HACCP plans, SOPs, and prerequisite programmes
  • Ensure effective verification across all plant areas to maintain PBV Level 4 or higher
  • Act as the primary site contact for MPI, PBV, AUSMEAT, auditors, and customers
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, ensuring findings are addressed and closed
  • Oversee product, environmental, and NMD testing programmes, including review of results and corrective actions
  • Manage key issues, key topics, OMARs, CARs, customer complaints, and plant claims
  • Provide technical food safety and compliance advice on customer requirements, regulatory certification, new processes, and product development
  • Lead, develop, and train the Compliance Team, ensuring competency and accurate records
  • Build strong working relationships across the site to proactively manage food safety and compliance risks
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and legislative requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in food safety, compliance systems, and site performance

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Food Safety, Compliance, or QA leadership role within food processing or manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of MPI requirements, RMP, HACCP, PBV, and export/customer standards
  • Experience leading audits, verification programmes, and compliance teams
  • Ability to analyse trends, manage risk, and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with regulators, auditors, customers, and plant teams
  • High attention to detail with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset
  • Solid computer skills (Excel, Word, compliance systems/databases)
